[vc_row][vc_column width="1/2"][vc_column_text]Work commenced in May on the redevelopment of the Historic North British Rubber Company Head Quarters building 'Castle Mill Works' in Fountainbridge. The Category C Listed building dates from 1856 and was in very poor condition before the works commenced and is on the Buildings at Risk Register. Once complete the building will provides a large open access printmaking production facility which allows artists to develop their practice in etching, lithography, screenprinting, relief printing, digital printmaking and light sensitive printmaking processes.
The project will comprise of a complete internal and external refurbishment of the building (circa 2,000m2 over 3 floors), together with the construction of a new 2-storey extension. The structural alterations are now well underway with the internal strip out and the underpinning operations in progress.
